Scare for a cure was awesome. Thanks to Sgt. Rico for entertaining during the hour wait to go through. The cast and crew did a great job at scaring the heck out of us. Kudos to the kids they were totally freaky. Can't wait to see what ya'll do next year!!

Great Haunted House. I wasnt sure how it was going to be at first and I thought I was in a movie. It made scream and I was scared. I havent had a good haunted house experience in Austin till this year... I love that the theme changes every year.. I can keep coming back. We are even looking at the red level next year.. want fun, scary this is the haunted house to go to.. getting dirty just adds to the experience...

Seriously, there were at least 4 times during our mission when I couldn't help but yell "AWESOME!" Even better than last year. I don't want to give away any surprises to those who might still go this week, but the special effects are wonderful (the warden is BAD.ASS.), the actors are great, and the action...well it's exactly what we paid for! I highly recommend the Red Level tickets. I'm wearing my blood-drenched shirt to work this Friday to make all the losers who didn't go jealous. I only wish SfaC could do more of these performances, maybe let it run a week or two into November. Hell, you could do it again for Valentine's Day! There's no better way to get your lady to hold onto you than to make her run for her life from a horde of scary zombies. PLEASE DO IT AGAIN FOR VALENTINE'S DAY!!

I went on the 16th at 9:15 pm with my girlfriend and two other couples. We got the RED tickets. I really enjoyed the experience, it was very fun and the attention they paid to the overall interaction was very well done. I would have liked to get even bloodier and covered with stuff, maybe to the point it would have been hard to drive home, but overall a fantastic experience. I recommend it.

I have to admit, people are having so much fun this year. The story is great, the special effects are pretty dang cool and our actors rock! And the ending is very surprising to everyone who makes it out ALIVE! They all have a sigh of, well, relief! :)

Thanks so much for your support and for helping us support the Ta-tas!! - Norma

i was pleased by the amount of blood used on red level passes as i was drenched, but it didn't have the scary factor so much as it did the fun and sometimes jumpy. i was expecting to scream my head off.

wasn't great but still the best i've been to so far and i'll definently be going again next year :D

Oh nice, my verification word is "queaf"...anyway, great haunt. I loved the interactive elements...I got to wear the lab coat and lead a bunch of prisoners to their supposed doom where I tried to convince the doctor's assistant that her own hand was the warden's size...she was not amused. Definitely a great time, looking forward already to next year.

Had a hell of a time, guys. My sole complaint was that it was *tough* finding missions - maybe some more active folks asking for help next year? Looking forward to it!

I've now been twice: This year was better than last year, but they were both fantastic. I was looking forward to this all year and it didn't let me down. So here's my list of comments, and if you've not been through yet, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!!!!!!

I absolutely adored the staging area town being part of it this year. It's much much more fun to wait if you're playing already. If there were even more things going on there, and a longer wait, I would've been even happier. I would've also likes even more subtle things that tied in with the later mission like the letter wall and gypsy clues and whatnot. But that was seriously awesome, you should always make people wait in a similar manner. (and having some of the notes hilariously vandalized was awesome too...so much to explore, but I want even more!)

The adventure was great, and I liked having lots of driving parts in it, especially the last bit...And the Sanctuary guy ruled. Basically everyone who had to act was great. I really liked the little girl on a chain. We thought we might've been supposed to put her out of her misery, but it didn't seem like an option at the time :)

I don't know what changed this year about the spinning room, but it seemed more disorienting than last time...and that's a good thing.

My one complaint was that I wish I could've made the computer screen animation (being an artist and a scientist). It was good, but could've been much better.

I liked being able to play an active role in lots of the mission. That's always the best, and I think you guys struck a good balance with it.

And making the parking guys part of the thing too...that was brilliant.

Once again, fantastic job, and I think next year you should make the trip longer, so that the wait will be longer and then make the waiting area even more awesome.

There is one fantastically negative side to this haunted house: It ruins all others for you.

SPOILER ALERT!
I just heard from a friend who went on a different night that the warden vomited all over his whole group. NO FAIR! Why didn't my group get vomited on? :{ I agree with a few other bloggers that I wish we could have gotten a bit more gruesomely drenched in various fluids and gore. Maybe next year you can have Red Level and EXTREME RED LEVEL SUPREME XXXL. Also, I don't think we were exposed to the warden quite long enough. A couple people in my group said they didn't actually even SEE him because they were facing another direction and we were told not to move. So they totally missed the awesomeness, and I would like to have seen him more than I did, because with all the action going on, it's not quite enough time to really appreciate that insane costume. He was still bad ass though. When I saw the red laser dot coming toward us, I felt a wicked superposition of *oooh shit* and *aaaw YEAH!!*

I also wish we could have had a few more options as far as what we could do in the story. Like Jeremy said, we wanted to put that little girl out of her misery like her daddy told us, but there wasn't a way to do it. And I tried to free one of the patients in the lab but she was still magically unable to move, so I realized we weren't supposed to do that. I know our inability to do things like that is supposed to add to our frustration and make us feel like we are seriously in trouble. And maybe having more options would just be way too difficult for the actors and staff to keep track of what each group ends up doing. But if it's possible, it would be great if you could have certain characters be able to do a couple different things. Like, if we did try to free the patient, she could come with us for the rest of the mission until she gets wasted by the warden. Oh that would have been incredible!

This was my second year and this year I brought my kids (teenagers). We had an amazing time. I know people have said it could have been more scary but my teenage daughter was openly crying at one point - I thought we might have to bail - but when it was over she was thrilled by the whole experience and said "It wasn't *that* scary..." (snicker). I LOVED the waiting area and how it was part of the whole experience. It would have been fun to have some things to do there - more people to get information from, etc. The warden was just perfect except one in our group didn't see him because she had her eyes closed. The actors were wonderful and the effects were great. I would have like to have more to do in the quest sense, but I understand how difficult that would be to manage. We'll be back next year with an even bigger group. I'm getting my sister to drive in from out of town.

I LOVED it! I came from Dallas to visit my friends..and I could not be happier with this! The atmosphere was great, it was scary, and you REALLY got into it. I had the vial at the end and I was protecting it with my life! I'm totally making the trip next year to go!

So much fun! I seriously haven't had that much fun in years. I love that it was interactive. It would be lovely to have even more of that but it'd probably be a nightmare to manage for the creators. I wanted to bring the creepy blonde girl with us as she kept asking me if I'd be her best friend and I really felt bad for her especially after she made me pinky swear.

I also wish I could go back through and have a redo. I was given the lab coat and told to lead my group of "prisoners" to the lab. Sadly, I was so distracted by the bloody lab coat, so sure that I was in store for something terrible and that I'd have to go first, that I completely missed the instructions Dale gave us so when we got to the lab I had no idea what to say to move the story along. I felt pretty stupid but I imagine I'm not the only one who got flustered on this adventure.

The end was brilliant! The set up with the awesome older women scientists and then the actual act of having to stand still while being caressed by countless creepy hands and cowering before the awesomely terrifying warden! So perfect! Even knowing that it was not real, I totally allowed my face to be touched by zombies and stood totally still, only looking at the warden from the corner of my eye, not moving my head.

Oh! And the dark room! So scary! My daughter grabbed my arm so hard when the lights went out that I have a bruise.

It was the perfect mix of scares and adventure and although I'd love more opportunities for interaction, it was still really great.

One thing that I found cool was that after all of our agonizing over the different codes we were given by Sgt. Rico and the Mayor, neither one of them was correct!

I'm torn, because next year I'd love to volunteer, but then I'd miss out on the opportunity to go through the adventure!

simply incredible. I got a phonecall from a trusted buddy ORDERING me and my husband to buy tickets for this event. Despite the lofty pricetag, we immediately complied- and boy am I glad we did so! The level of detail was amazing. I think the best way to describe this was thrilling- it wasn't a pee-your-pants scary haunted house (though it was scary), but that you weren't scared out of your wits made for a much more thrilling and interesting adventure. Every second was exciting and scary and immersive. The acting was excellent, and the heart that went into it (heh) makes me tear up thinking about it. It honestly feels like being in a video game in the best way possible and it becomes easy to insert yourself into the storyline. I appreciated this so much because it was so easy to suspend disbelief and really FEEL it. Red tags all the way! Can't wait for next year!

Simply amazing. The immersion begins with the bus ride, and unlike last year you were immediately in the haunt when you got to the bottom of the hill. The outpost concept was perfect and hopefully it can be worked into next years theme. There were so many thrilling moments, my favorite was probably the switch sequence where after getting the sequence "wrong" all of the zombies, and even more, that were in the cages were suddenly surrounding you. Well done. The actors, script, and scenery were all beyond expectations. Please do keep it up and can't wait for what is in store for next year.

What was the difference between the red level & the regular level? Two groups of friends went through at the different levels, but they seemed to have the same experiences.

The scare was excellent this year! Does anyone know where the group photos are located on the website? The photographer at the end of the adventure said they would be posted for a $5 donation. I haven't been able to find them. My friends REALLY want to see what a mess we were afterwards!
